In 2024, Garbage surprised us with a remastered version of one of their most iconic albums, the celebrated “Bleed Like Me”. Considered by many to be the band’s most rock-oriented record, this new release expands the original version of 12 tracks (including the bonus track) to an impressive total of 28 songs. This reissue arrives 20 years after the original recording, which took place between 2003 and 2004, although the album was released in 2005.
What’s new in this remaster? To start, there are 16 new tracks, including rarities, B-sides, and remixes of some of the album’s hits. Among these new additions are songs like ‘Honeybee’ and ‘Never Be Free’. However, one of the most intriguing gems is the track ‘Bad Boy’, which features Dave Grohl on drums – a result of his close relationship with the band, particularly with Butch Vig, who produced the iconic Nevermind by Nirvana and several Foo Fighters albums.
In addition to the new material, the remaster offers a significant improvement in sound quality. The audio is now clearer and more defined, with an expanded dynamic range that provides greater differentiation between the sounds. And believe me, you’ll notice it with any sound system, but if you have high-quality equipment or good headphones, the listening experience will be even more rewarding.
This remastering has propelled Garbage into the top 10 of music charts in countries like the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia, accumulating millions of streams on platforms like Spotify and YouTube. You can enjoy this remastered album on major digital platforms, but it’s also available in physical formats such as CD and vinyl. Notably, there are two deluxe vinyl editions, one in gray and another in red, adding a very cool touch to the collection.
